*New Action Items*
[AI] (MikeO) will send a note out to the Signet and Grouper dev lists soliciting suggestions for topics to be covered at the session.
*Carryover Action Items*
[AI] (MikeO) will send a note out to the list with some context about auditing issues and requesting folks to talk with their respective auditors for their perspectives, and report/discuss via the list.
[AI] (MikeO) will develop an initial strawman set of test cases to float to the list for feedback. Mike will also contact U. Washington for information on their authority manager (ASTRA), for additional data points about how other systems approach these issues.
[AI] (MikeO) will contact {Michael Gettes} about potential COmanage requirements to drive Signet functionality.
[AI] (MikeO) will work with {Tom Barton} about centralizing a Signet and Grouper [combined] roadmap.
**Discussion**
Signet v1.3.0 is making good progress. Target release date is not yet known, more to come as it gets closer.
Discussion primarily centered around the combined Signet/Grouper session at the Internet2 Spring Member Meeting, April 21, 1:30-3:00 PM, and ways in which we can make it most effective.
http://events.internet2.edu/2008/spring-mm/sessionDetails.cfm?session=3739&event=280
Consensus was that it will be more effective to keep the discussion at the business process level rather than at the technical level. Attendees interested in the technical aspects will be encouraged to talk with the developers after the session.
Mike and Tom will be working on the combined Signet/Grouper roadmap in advance of the meeting.
[AI] (MikeO) will send a note out to the Signet and Grouper dev lists soliciting suggestions for topics to be covered at the session.
- Should I2MI-Common have its own calls and email list(s)?
Consensus was that this would unduly fragment the discussions and thus not be in the best interest of the Signet and Grouper projects. Since there is already significant overlap in the subscribers to the Signet and Grouper lists, cross-pollination is well established. The result of spinning off another list and calls would likely be increased "siloing" of discussions which would not be a good thing.
There was discussion about potentially merging the Signet and Grouper Dev lists (not the user lists) and calls. This may make sense in the future to unify relevant discussions...
