Internet2/MACE Object Identifier (OID) Registry
MACE administers
an Object Identifier (OID) arc, supporting the assignment of unique, global,
persistent oids to resources of various kinds for Internet2/MACE projects
and working groups.
OIDs are used to identify protocol and schema objects in several different
technical areas, including X.500/LDAP-based directories, and X.509-based
public-key infrastructure. For general information about OIDs and their
use, see: http://asn1.elibel.tm.fr/en/oid/index.htm
MACE does not delegate OID registration to other organizations. One
OID registry that does do this is IANA, http://pen.iana.org/pen/PenApplication.page
