*Discussion*

All communications and work of Internet2 WG’s is subject to the Internet2 Intellectual Property Framework http://members.internet2.edu/intellectualproperty.html, please review this page.

Comments to the domain model diagram: Several issues surrounding the domain model diagram were discussed including:
-Using different authentication methods for posting a message to the list via an e-mail client versus posting a message to this list via logging into a web application,
-Including an authentication interaction that correlates to the message submission.
-Defining some technologies supporting message submission with message rules and check message rules,
-Addressing rules preventing spamming, inappropriate language, word count limitations, size of attachments, etc.,
-Reflecting sender permissions in the list moderation rules or list sending rules depending on where the list rules are stored,
-Defining properties of rules and messages,
-Reflecting built in security within activities related to check authorization,
-Including example sending rules, moderation rules, content rules, etc., and
-Adding a legend to the model.

The group discussed further refinements to the domain model diagram. Changes reflecting these comments will be made to the domain model diagram. Once the changes have been made, the updated version will be posted to the WG’s web site.

Comments to the survey: The group decided that a web form will not be useful for gathering and formatting responses. Due to the survey’s open question format, very few answers could be automatically populated into a spreadsheet. Thus, the survey will not be converted to PHP format. Comments from test respondents have been reviewed and subsequent changes have been made to the survey. A test respondent for the VO survey will be selected to beta test the VO survey.

The Sympa developers can attend the Internet2 Fall Member’s Meeting September 27 – 30, 2004 in Austin, Texas. For more information see http://events.internet2.edu/2004/fall-mm/.

The next call is Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at 12:00PM ET.
