*Discussion*

The new web-enabled version of FRS (“Famous”) is thought to be near production. There was discussion about the process by which entered data is validated. [AI] 13-June-02 (Morgan) - will investigate the current status of the next generation web-enabled FRS (“Famous”) and determine what information about it can be shared publicly at this time.

The draft scenarios created by Dave have been distributed. They have been modeled after the video middleware scenarios, as far as format and approach. It was suggested that a small group work on refining the scenarios. The intent is to get into the details, defining issues and ways of addressing them. There will be a series of calls to fully realize the scenarios. After they’re ready, feedback will be solicited from a variety of medical environments to verify the robustness of the scenarios. Eventually a set of requirements will be extracted that can be prioritized for importance. A call for the subgroup to work on the scenarios in detail was set up for June 18, 2002.

[AI] 13-June-02 (Dave) will work on the scenarios and send out a draft to the scenario subgroup early next week.

There was discussion of visibility criteria and access control. Hospitals do not necessarily want to make physician contact information public. There is a need for various levels of access based on affiliation and credentials. Additionally, issues exist relating to overlap of faculty serving in multiple positions at multiple institutions.

Two questions were relayed on behalf of Roger Guard – When would something be ready to present to the AAMC executives? What will be the benefits of defining the object class from the perspective of specific qualifiable benefits for the groups involved?

It was proposed that after the scenarios are done; work can begin around creating FAQ's etc. about the work of this group, by the fall AAMC meeting Nov 8-13. There was consensus that there will be a need for a white paper and explanatory materials for distribution.
