Carryover *Action Items*
[AI] Steve will send a link to the {MedMid} list as CAMPMed (January 25-27, 2006) information is made available. (10-Nov-05)
[AI] Anyone interested in testing the feasibility of inter-institutional collaboration on courseware via Shibboleth please contact Dave Damassa <david.damassa@tufts.edu>.
[AI] Comments on the VistA program, especially related to identity and access management middleware, are encouraged. Please direct them to the list. (See mail from SteveO to the list 22-July-05 for related links).
[AI] {Keith} will post a note to the MACE list inquiring about MedMid related activities in Europe.
*Discussion* The Group discussed potential use cases for the AAMC identifier. While the younger generation may have a password already, many others still do not. What method of AuthN is most applicable? Can Shibboleth be incorporated to provide a service here?
[AI] {Keith} will email the list with draft documents regarding the federal e-authentication program.
There are several organizations that provide different web services – e.g., verification of licenses, graduation, board certifications, etc. Another useful service that would enable people to authorize the exchange of data, instead of having to re-enter it each time; this would benefit from using the AAMC identifier.
{Keith} suggested that AAMC may find it useful if the Group put together a high-level executive summary detailing use cases for the AAMC identifier.
[AI] {Steve and Keith} will draft scenarios for potential use cases of an AAMC identifier.
The next MedMid conference call will be on Thursday, February 9, 2005 at 2pm ET.
