Pilot Updates
The University of Cincinnati pilot project providing online CME is progressing. As soon as a few internal developments are complete, then Shibboleth will be installed. The University of Cincinnati will partner with the University of Wisconsin for testing the Shibboleth aspect of the project. The group discussed participating in the InCommon federation.

Georgetown University is working to integrate Shibboleth into the MonitorMan component of Azyxxi. The next phase will define the authorization requirements and attributes for the Project Sentinel environment. The Project Sentinel federation has not yet been formally defined. Current plans include forming a federation with Georgetown University’s Medical Center, Washington Hospital Center and the DC Department of Public Health. InCommon will be evaluated as a possible federation under which to operate once attribute and policy requirements have been determined. This project may have further reaching implications outside the DC area. The ASTM Privilege Management Infrastructure might have information that can be used in part or whole to begin discussing federated role based access control and privilege management. Jack forwarded documentation on this to the MedMid list during the call.

CAMP Med feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Many attendees were appreciative of the forum to focus specifically on identity and access management for medical and health-related applications and the technology issues faced by academic medical centers. Continued Internet2/NMI-EDIT outreach efforts partnering with the AAMC are under consideration. The group expressed curiosity about EU efforts related to this WG. Perhaps a follow up of the upcoming CAMP in Denver on ID management integration might be useful.

Preceding the Spring I2 meeting on Monday May 2 a Shibboleth case studies and application tutorial will be held. There will be a case study discussion pertaining to academic medical centers. Registration is available on the NMI-EDIT web site: http://www.nmi-edit.org/index.cfm. Or, please contact Ann West.

The Spring I2 Member Meeting is May 2-4, 2005 in Arlington, VA. Several sessions might be of interest to WG members. Please see http://events.internet2.edu/2005/spring-mm/.

The next call will be held Thursday, April 14, 2005 at 2:00PM ET. An agenda with a call in number will be posted to the list prior to the call.
