**Discussion**
1. Update on status of Group Usage survey
The survey is ready, pending some last edits expected today. We will release it to MACE-Dir in the next day or so and give them 4 weeks to complete it, after which we will release it to the Educause IdM CG list for another 4 weeks. The plan is to have the results analyzed in time for presentation at the MACE-Dir session at the Spring Internet2 Member Meeting.
2. Update on results of Test Accounts survey <http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=SlFF6wbLYPXA7rZjaerpzA_3d_3d>
The survey is still open, If anyone still wants to complete, please do so ASAP.
3. TeraGridPrincipalName discussion (see MACE-Dir thread "TeraGridPrincipalName" December 29, 2008)
EPTID does not seem to meet the needs of the TeraGrid. If EPPN were to be defined as multi-valued (it is currently single-valued), if this (TGPN) is stored were in turn to be stored as another value, how would the IdP know which value to release for each application? Or should this be defined as a new attribute?
RL "Bob" will join the discussion on the list...
4. Year of birth discussion
The basic use case is that the relying party needs to know if the requesting user is old enough to gain access to a particular resource that is concerned about this. This could be better expressed as "is the user older than [x]?"
The original desire for this attribute came from Denmark, but has obvious utility everywhere. It was also noted that even within countries, different applications often have different needs in this regard based upon the particular services offered. This also raises the question of who/what is authoritative for this attribute? Some commercial entities are arising to offer this service, in some settings.
Does this logically lead to the need for us to define an attribute in eduPerson for this purpose? Since this has such obvious pertinence to K12 as much as higher-ed, where is the logical forum/home for this?
Q: Are there known use cases in higher-ed where this attribute has been requested, or would have utility?
A: None that we are aware of, as of yet...
