The Spring Internet2 Member Meeting will take place on April 24-26 in Arlington, VA <http://events.internet2.edu/2006/spring-mm/>. There will be a Directories BoF on Monday morning at 8:30am EST; check the Program for any changes to the schedule.
Roland provided an OM update. Eight universities met last month to work on the new SwAMI initiative <http://www.swami.se/>, and decided to come out with a package 1) that even a small university can "press start" and run, and 2) that can also replace part of the existing structure at a university. SwAMI will focus on ontologies, and does plan to have inter-organization uses across boundaries. As for domains, they will start with consultant- or teacher-types who may be doing cross-work; other types will follow. There will be additional meetings, with the intent to produce code that can be packaged. {Roland} will provide updates as the project evolves; discussion may continue at the I2MM.
{Walter} has created a Nexus wiki <http://nexus.memphis.edu/>; snapshots of the software are available, along with beginnings of a QuickStart and Reference guide. You will also find instructions for subscribing to the <nexus-users@internet2.edu>. Nexus will be a part of NMI R9. University of Oregon has expressed interest, going over code and looking to see what is required for their integration.
The next scheduled MACE-Dir WG call overlaps with the Spring Internet2 Member Meeting and will be cancelled. Therefore, the following MACE-Dir WG call will be held on Monday, May 1, 2006.
