*Discussion*
Documents under development should be titled drafts and ideally include a note
that any specifications they contain are not yet intended for production usage.
The NMI R6 date has been changed to December 13th, 2004.
Tom’s eduCourse data model has two attributes that will need LDAP attribute definitions drafted.
The latest draft of Using eduCourse with Shibboleth: Illustrative Scenarios is available at: http://arch.doit.wisc.edu/keith/i2/drafts/draft-internet2-mace-courseid-educouse-shib-usage-00.htm. It was generally agreed that it was worthwhile to add triggers, preconditions, flow of events, and a list of common actors across the scenarios to the document.
Fred gave an update on his work with the IMS. The IMS is moving into trying
to define behaviors in web services. He is working on a project charter within
IMS for a tools interoperability specification. The group will focus on a particular
tool called SAMAGO, which is an assessment engine developed by the University
of Indiana as a part of SAKAI. WebCT and Blackboard have kits for building extensions
and there has been no good way for porting tools from one system to another.
The project goal is enabling SAMAGO to be launched, have the learning management
system session information transferred to it and then subsequently to another
learning management system.
