http://www.terena.org/activities/tf-emc2/meetings/12/
http://www.terena.org/activities/refeds/meetings/dec08/
Ken, Jens, and Diego attended.
TF-EMC2 had several federations in attendance. Consensus was that this is reaching critical mass in most nations. Non-web-based federated applications were discussed. The next TF-EMC2 will be in the UK in May 2009.
At the REFEDS meeting the future of Edugain was also a topic of discussion, as was metadata management, LoA, and the mapping of attribute names from XML to user presentation/approval. Attribute development processes were also discussed, e.g. "year of birth" to be used for access control decisions related to children.
