RL “Bob” attended. The “Identity and Trust in the Internet” initiative is gaining momentum, and more news is expected soon. The recent launch of the Open Web Foundation was noted.

A DKIM pilot oriented toward higher ed is under discussion, more to come on this as it develops. DKIM Author Domain Signing Practices (ADSP) was noted as an interesting recent development.

Are SAML assertions appropriate for LOA4 applications? There have been some recent discussions about this, in the context of the new rev of NIST 800-63.
PKI Resource Query Protocol (PRQP) was discussed, this is essentially discovery for PKI-related resources such as CAs. The question of metadata resolution in this context was mentioned as an interesting aspect. Dynamic metadata is a challenging subject of interest in multiple areas, including federation and DNS.

There has been some discussion in the PKIX working group related to opaque identifiers.
The question arose as to why DNS infrastructure is not being used for applications such as PKIX. Ensuring that resolvers are able to support it is a challenge, given the broad deployment base.
