*Recent Meetings*
- EMC2+Mobility+Refeds,
October 21-22, 2009, Rome, Italy
http://www.terena.org/activities/tf-emc2/
Jens and RL "Bob" attended. EduID was a topic of discussion, as it relates to user interface consistency. More focused work on this is forthcoming, to form a concrete recommendation(s) to publishers. UI design, supported by usability testing, was proposed to determine the potential value of a unified brand. More to come on this as it develops.
Interfederation agreements and policies were another major topic of discussion. The new Edugain (GEANT3) would create an interfederated arrangement among all of the EU federations. The possibility of moving ahead sans agreements was a topic of discussion as well.
While agreements between federations would likely be very challenging, but individual federation attestations to a shared policy framework would be one potential solution...
Interoperability standards v. trust may be a tension as this moves forward.
As we are seeing more diversity than convergence in the details, how could convergence be achieved? What is or should be MACE's role in this, beyond maintenance of the eduPerson schema?

**Discussion**
- InCommon/I2MI meetings and webinars for 2010
Ann reviewed the summary she sent out to the list. Funding/support models for future meetings are being worked out.
- Kuali IAM summit
Deployments are expanding. Contributions from campus implementers of IdM are particularly important. A 2-day meeting between the KIM team and likely near-term implementers of KIM and KS is being planned for late 2009. More to come on this as it develops
- Bamboo platform IAM needs/engagement
MACE comments are encouraged, but the comment period will be closing soon.
[AI] (All) send Bamboo IAM comments to Tom ASAP for coordination.
- The MACE brand and mission, again
There was a discussion of the MACE role in the community going forward.
- CO/VO support flowers blooming
A forthcoming NSF SDCI solicitation will be looking for national level IdM and AuthZ support for VOs, focused mainly on campus-to-campus interactions. Leveraging and integrating with existing IdM activities at the national level will be stressed. How might MACE respond to opportunities for partnerships?
- Tao Two
There is support at GSA for a followup Tao of Attributes event, spurred in part by the work they are doing with Kantara and the OpenID community. More to come on this as it develops.
