Upcoming events:
- The Signet/Grouper deployment event will be March 20-22, opening with an installfest on the afternoon of March 20. Tom noted that one purpose of this event will be to gather feedback to use as input into the design process.
- EuroCAMP will be April 3-5 in Ljubljana, Slovenia; watch http://www.terena.nl/events/details.php?event_id=571 for details.
MACE has been asked to propose an inter-federation agreement between E-Auth and InCommon. David is working on it; look for a draft in a few weeks.
There was a brief discussion of Google's foray into federated IM, called "open federation" (http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2006/01/open-federation-for-google-talk.html). This is based on XMPP, but SIP support is promised soon; many developers are unenthusiastic about the dual-stack approach. Bob noted that open federation relies on dialback authN and is not particularly secure.
Tom is working on a MACE Middleware Initiative Plan (MACE-MIP) document. Ken wants to have this document ready by February 14 at the latest. [ACTION] Tom will send Ken a draft MACE-MIP document by Friday, January 27.
Lynn noted that the graphic artist who did the Shibboleth logo is now working on logos for Grouper and Signet. [ACTION] Lynn will contact Greg Wood about policy for use of the Shibboleth, Grouper, and Signet logos.
Steve Olshansky is working on getting an autheticated wiki set up. The fact that many schools are not yet in InCommon is slowing things down. [ACTION] Steve Olshansky will gather input on wiki requirements from MACE members.
