*Recent Meetings*
- TERENA Networking Conference 2009 / REFEDs 2009

- CAMP & Advanced CAMP
June 15-19, 2009, Philadelphia PA
http://net.educause.edu/camp092
"Building blocks of access management" was the topic for CAMP, including entry level and pragmatic guidance, case studies, requirements, patterns for analysis, and implementation considerations.
http://net.educause.edu/camp093
Advanced CAMP followed, and "identity summit" (e.g. the integration of identity models between social networking sites and the campus) was the topic. Working with the open source community was a sub-theme. Kuali (Rice/KIM) and JA-SIG were represented on the program committee. ISOC sponsored the reception.
Both events were successful, and well received by the participants. Prospects for improved communication and coordination among the key open source projects were among the more impactful outcomes.
Common terminology and models were deemed by the various projects to be an important area upon which to focus, and MACE-paccman was deemed to be the best venue in which to pursue this.

- MICE comes back
As a result of conversations at TERENA as well as in other venues, there is momentum building around this activity in support of IAM middleware software development, as something of a parallel to MACE. Initial participants would likely include JISC, NORDUnet, SURFnet, and Switch in addition to Internet2/MACE on behalf of the US.
