**Discussion**
*earthcube as a prototype - http://earthcube.ning.com/
This is a NSF directorate-level activity, an umbrella for many VOs sharing data. This will generate a variety of useful use cases. They are deeply engaged in things like VIVO and citations.

Security, IdM, and access control are on the radar, but at relatively low priorities.

This will be a theme on a future call. Ken is working with the principals on various relevant topics, and access control issues are becoming clearer. ORCID especially is an interesting case, as users change their locations and affiliations.
