Upcoming meetings:
- BRIITE (https://www.briite.org/) meets Nov. 2-4; Bob is planning to attend. There is a great need for federations in the medical research space, and this will be a good opportunity for evangelism.
- The EuroCAMP registration list is at http://www.terena.nl/tech/eurocamp/nov05/participants.php. Diego noted that around 80% of the names are new to him.
Vendors are increasingly expressing interest in being able to describe their products as Shibboleth-compatible. While agreeing that setting up a full-scale certification program is not practical, Bob suggested establishing "a place for interop claims to be expressed", e.g. a wiki.
Scott announced that Shibboleth 2.0 will be a WebSSO system. If campuses have features from their local SSO systems that they'd like to make a case for including, now is the time to get involved. Scott noted that the planned Shibboleth 2.0 SSO is already feature-rich, and there will be an extension architecture.
The group discussed Grid developments. GGF revealed a continuing lack of consensus on how to do federations in the Grid context. An October 17 TERENA meeting discussed NRENs and Grids; see http://www.terena.nl/tech/grid/workshop-02/nren-workshop.html.
The GEANT2 AAI architecture has been extensively revised and is now called eduGAIN. See Diego's October 17 email for the final draft; Diego would very much appreciate having feedback from MACE before Christmas.
