*Discussion*
Recent meetings:
- Ken reported that the Poznan TERENA meetings were productive, the TF-EMC2, League of Federations and EduRoam sessions in particular. Presentations and video are at http://www.terena.nl/conferences/tnc2005/programme/index.php?showday=all. Minutes of the EduRoam meeting are in the works.
- [AI] Keith will send MACE his notes from the 2005 GPN-MIDnet Annual Conference.
Upcoming meetings:
- CAMPs are June 27 - July 1; see http://www.educause.edu/camp052 and http://www.educause.edu/camp053. A vendor-focused afternoon session is being planned.
- Scott will be presenting Shibboleth at the Catalyst interoperability session. [AI] Anyone who can help recruit additional Catalyst participants will contact Bob.
- Bob noted that he'll be attending the Paris IETF in August.
- Ken noted a request from Japan that MACErs stop by on the way to or from the August 23-27 APAN meeting. Ken's Japanese contacts are particularly interested in GridShib, and increasingly interested in international collaboration.
- Diego noted that the next TF-Mobility and TF-EMC2 meetings have been scheduled for September 6-9 in Barcelona. There will also be a meeting on technical gaps in federation coordination. [AI] Ken will see if MICE wants to meet in Barcelona, and look into possible scheduling conflicts with EUNIS.
The group discussed the possibility of a new international middleware "brand". Ken noted that each country wants to have a label that shows they're working from a common international standard, but still be able to adapt that standard for its own needs. Accomplishing this is "even more complicated than it first appears." Bob suggested that if this goes forward, the new brand should be established by sometime this summer.
Bob noted that MACE-MList (http://middleware.internet2.edu/mlist/) is close to completing its chartered tasks. [AI] Bob will send MACE materials on spam control as a possible future direction for MACE-MList, and ask Jill about her plans for the group.
Finally, there were two requests for input:
- [AI] All will review Mark's June 7 "Re: Setting Priorities in Cyberspace" message and provide feedback via phone or email.
- [AI] All will send Steve Carmody use cases for Shibboleth-enabling ADFS.
