*Discussion*

The group reviewed developments at the Internet2 Member Meeting, and discussed next steps:

There was a successful discussion with TeraGrid about managed credentials for access to TeraGrid gateways. TeraGrid is interested in collaborating, and discussion continues in email. Dane Skow and Von Welch are taking the lead on the TeraGrid side. Tom Barton is taking the lead on the MACE side.

The Shibbolized FastLane demo was a success; see http://events.internet2.edu/2006/fall-mm/sessionDetails.cfm?session=2931&event=258. The interfederation team will continue to work toward moving this into production.

The RADIUS/SAML/eduroam session (http://events.internet2.edu/2006/fall-mm/sessionDetails.cfm?session=2906&event=258) revealed an emerging consensus on a general approach to integrating AuthN and attribute exchange. The group will aim to make this happen with a RADIUS server that is already in widespread use. [AI] Diego will ask the DAMe architects to produce a flow diagram for their RADIUS/SAML integration proposal, in the same format used in Steve Carmody's proposal, so the two can be more easily compared.

The Internet2 Real Time Communications Advisory Group presented its final report; see http://events.internet2.edu/2006/fall-mm/sessionDetails.cfm?session=2843&event=258 and http://www.internet2.edu/rtc/. Tom noted that RTC-AG chair Tyler Johnson is working on authN for H.350.

Ken met with Polycom; they are working on groups for videoconferencing. [AI] Ken will send Tom Barton and Mike Tucker a note about the possibility of Polycom using Grouper. Bob noted that input from Polycom on how they want to use attributes would help the IETF SIP WG develop its SIP SAML profile (http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-sip-saml-01.txt). Ton noted that SWITCH has created a Shibboleth-enabled videoconferencing reservation system, called econfportal; see http://econf.switch.ch/econfportal/www/resources/images/SwitchJournal-econf.pdf. SURFnet's A-Select federation is also using econfportal.

[AI] Ken will send MACE a summary of the Member Meeting discussions of VO support software coordination.

Presentations from many of the middleware sessions at the Member Meeting are available at http://events.internet2.edu/2006/fall-mm/agenda.cfm?event=258&day=&track=56&details=on.

The CAMP on Charting Your Authentication Roadmap is February 7-9 in Tempe; see http://www.educause.edu/CAMP071. There will also be a CAMP and Advanced CAMP June 25-29 in Portland, Oregon. Renee (rwfrost@internet2.edu) is taking suggestions for topics for the June CAMP.
